Frequently Asked Questions (General)
- How many organizations are in the database?
We have developed unique and trusted relationships with local nonprofit organizations, foundations, charities, and city governments. Using a network of trained practioners familiar with the mortgage industry and local services, this growing database provides accurate and current information on critical services that may assist consumers experiencing financial issues.
- Do organizations in the database pay a fee?
No. This database is intended to be an unbiased, objective list of the best, available assistance in an area.
- Are we liable for the services third party organization provide?
No. In fact, the site contains a specific script for the counselor to read to the consumer which requires the consumer to affirmatively respond that they understand that they are receiving only a referral to publicly available services. Services may be helpful but in no way constitutes an endorsement.
- How Many Cities are in the database?
Currently, NPR offers referrals in 45 cities across the country which represent 80% of high foreclosure markets. We will soon offer referral information for 75 metropolitan areas that will represent over 90% of foreclosure filings. NPR will continue to add markets as demand grows. If you don’t see a city or organization that you believe should be in the database, please contact us at info@nonprofitreferral.org.
